OSU has a Clay Target Team
The Ohio State University has reinstated its student clay target shotgun program. Student athletes [both male and female] will compete in Trap, Skeet, International Skeet, International Trap, and Sporting Clays, representing OSU against other collegiate teams. Currently, this is a Club Sport rather than a Varsity Sport, and students are governed by the ACUI rather than the NCAA rules. As of press time, 7 men and 5 women make up the Scarlet and Gray Teams. Their first competition is May 13th at their home club, Delaware’s Black Wing Shooting Center.
Volunteer coaches include Ron Margello, Michael Hurd, Mark Douglas, and Hal Hare. The OSU Team receives $200.00 per year from the University, with the remaining expenses paid by the student athletes themselves or our Booster Association. Currently we are in need of donation $$$ to help purchase Remington shotguns. If you would like more information on becoming a Buckeye Shotgun Booster, please contact.
