International Skeet Zone 3 Championship Results

The International Skeet Zone 3 Championships were held April 7-9th at the Delaware’s Black Wing Shooting Center. We had typical Ohio April weather with 50 mph winds and wind chills in the 30 degree range Friday and Saturday with a break Sunday with more typical 50′  weather.
The Friday Preliminary 100 target race was won my former All-American Terry Thompson and shooting a drop dead gorgeous Kolar.  There was a tie for Runner-Up honors between Junior Shooter Eben Wildman and Hal Hare, with the nod going to the youth after an extremely short sudden death round.
Weather cooperated on Sunday, the 2nd half of the 2 day Main Event, allowing some record scores and personal best to be fired.  Eben Wildman fired his first perfect 25 straight Sunday.  Hal Hare shot a career high [new format] 97×100 to tie for Open First after the 200 target race concluded with a Model 21 Side by Side.
[International Skeet is different!  Keep in mind that perfect 25’s are scarce in this difficult game since the gun must remain at the waist and cannot be mounted until the delayed target release is completed, the targets are thrown almost 20 yards further, and the target sequence is more demanding–especially at Station 4 where each competitor shots 6 targets: a High Single, a Low Single, a Double High House first, a Double Low House first.]
Main Event Open First honors and the AA1st title went to Mike Peresetsky.  Hal Hare took Runner-Up and A-1st, and Eben Wildman captured Open Third and Class D 1st.  Terry Thompson settled for Open 4th and Class B 1st, and Mark Douglas won Open 5th/Class E
