Fun with Vintage Skeet
With the serious shooting now behind us–perhaps it is time to consider some of the novelty shoots, such as the Ohio Vintage Skeet State Shoot. Safelite Auto Glass and the Buckeye Vintagers are hosting the event at the Black Wing Shooting Center October 6th and 7th. Targets shot will not impact your current average or class, but can be counted towards your lifetime target count. NSSA membership is not required–so bring a new shooting friend.
Some things to remember:
* Only side by sides or pump guns are permitted.
* Any event can be shot on either date, shoot one or both dates.
* All events are 50 target races.
* Re-entry is permitted in all events, but a gun change is required.
* Target sequence is regular American skeet.
* Rules are circa 1935 [remember this is Vintage Skeet].
Low gun and delayed release are the rule.
* Sub-gauge tube may be used.
* Rather than classes, we use a rank scoring system.
Come out and try the game the way your Grandfather might have shot the game! Loaner guns will be available courtesy of the Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company. Visit.
