The
weather is great (mid 70'2), very little wind, and blue skies with
occassional puffs of clouds. Everyone is having the time of their lives
and the shoot offs are hot and heavy. Shooters from the five zone
states plus a few from neighboring states PLUS several from another
country, all came to Sportsmen's Shooting Center for their shot at
prize money and bragging rights over each other. But then, it's the
ZONE and it should be expected!
For Todd Bender
fans.. Todd shot 100 and took the money (but not the title) for AAA3.

The

Woo who took the Zone Champion title. Chuck Isaac took the Open title.

One
thing that was noticeable about this shoot was that everyone seemed to
bring a puppy or two. Jim Murphy had his new dog "Primer", Trish
Magyar's "Bailey" was there, and the Parks family had a litter of
Chocolate Labs that everyone was tempted to adopt. Several other dogs
rounded out the animal farm with the obvious lack of any cats!

You'll
notice that there are some problems in the top end of the list of
winners. Because my data is only for the money events, I don't have all
the results that have to do with just the Zone titles. Since this was
an open shoot, a bunch of shooters from all over (national and
international) came to Canton to enjoy the fun that happens at our
shoots. But like I said, these are the "preliminary" results and please
check with NSSA's web site later for details.
There is one
detail that may be interesting... Todd Bender was the only one to run
them in the .410 (but couldn't win a title since he's from Georgia)
even though he was saddled with a squad partner who had a little
trouble with high one. Just ask Mr. Grates about it... or maybe
"Super-Larry".
